The storied English shoe company formally began on May 1, 1873, when Thomas Church opened a small factory with his wife and sons in Northampton (the home of England's best shoemakers). in 1999 Church's was bought by the Prada Group, and today it retains its position as one of the world's most respected footwear companies, with a roster of clients, including one James Bond.
