Hand-painted oil reproduction of a famous Hiroshige painting, Descending Geese at Katada, No. 6 from Eight Views of Omi. The original Descending Geese of Katada is a woodblock print by Japanese artist, Utagawa Hiroshige, who is considered one of the last great masters of his trade. He was best known for his landscapes and portraying birds and flowers, setting him apart from other ukiyo-e artists. This piece is included in his collection, Eight Views of Omi Province, which shows us 8 views of Lake Biwa during different seasons and different types of weather. The poem in the upper left corner translates to "Flying across numerous peaks, and getting really close to Koshiji; yet, the wild geese cannot resist descending at Katada.
